our company
Gable Lumber is a small manufacturing company located in Midland, Michigan, specializing in knotty pine and cedar paneling. Our company works hard to produce the highest quality products in the industry. Throughout each step of production, our employees ensure that your finished product will meet the highest standards. We take great pride in our work and sincerely appreciate your consideration of our products.
Don and Dan Gable (father and son) began the business in 1994 after purchasing a small planer/molder, and have expanded the business since that time. Hardwoods were the primary focus of the business for the first 10 years, while softwoods (pine and cedar) were added later. Today, the business is split evenly between the two segments.
We offer softwood products, hardwood flooring, moldings, and stair treads. We also custom-dry lumber and sell grade lumber.

Knotty Pine & Cedar Paneling
Our paneling is produced from Eastern White Pine and Western Red Cedar lumber. Our product is kiln dried (moisture content between 6-8%) for use in many U.S. climate zones.
Each piece of paneling has a tongue and groove on the sides, and the ends are matched. End matching makes installation much easier and significantly reduces waste. Two rows can easily be brought across a ceiling or wall simultaneously. We also mill several case and base profiles as well as inside and outside corners to compliment our paneling.
In addition to milling, we offer finishing of our pine and cedar paneling and trim. We utilize a proprietary ultraviolet (UV) cured finish, which provides the best coating available in the industry. Even though the wood will darken, the UV finish will not yellow and is very scratch and chemical resistant.
We strive to manufacture the industry’s highest quality knotty pine and cedar products. Please note that the pictures shown are representations only, and the finished products may not look identical to those in the pictures.
